SHREVEPORT, La. – The Ottawa University baseball team's season ended on Tuesday night with a 7-6 loss in the NAIA Opening Round Shreveport Bracket to Mid-America Christian University.
Ottawa struck first, taking the lead in the top of the first inning.
Cole Broughton was hit by a pitch.
Dylan Garcia's double to left-center scored Broughton, giving OU a 1-0 lead.
Julius Ryan singled up the middle, scoring Garcia and Ottawa led 2-0. Ottawa scored its final run of the inning on a double to left by
Nicholas Sizemore. His hit scored Ryan and the Braves led 3-0.
Mid-America Chrisitan cut into the Brave lead with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, 3-2. MACU took its first lead of the game, scoring two runs in the bottom of the third, 4-3.
Ottawa rallied in the top of the seventh.
Jaquavius Davis singled up the middle.
Anthony Soria scored him with a double to right-center, 4-4. Ottawa retook the lead with
Jeremy Freeman, Jr.'s double to center and the Braves lead 5-4.
In the bottom of the seventh, MACU tied the game, 5-5. The Braves retook the lead in the top of the eighth. Sizemore doubled to left-center and then advanced to third on wild pitch. Davis was struck out but reached first on a wild pitch. That wild pitch scored Sizemore and OU led 6-5.
MACU, however, was able to rally in the bottom of the ninth. The Evangels scored two runs, taking the 7-6 victory.

The Braves finished the season in third place in the KCAC, finishing the season with an overall record of 39-16.
