JOPLIN, Mo. – The Ottawa University baseball team ended its run in the KCAC Tournament with an 11-2 loss to Friends University on Friday afternoon.
Ottawa struck first, taking the lead in the top of the third inning. With two outs,
Dylan Garcia singled to left.
Jackson Alaniz moved Garcia to second with a double to left.
Shaun Gomez, Jr.'s single to left scored Garcia and OU had a 1-0 lead.
Friends answered in the bottom of the third with four runs, taking a 4-1 lead over OU. In the top of the seventh the Braves cut into the Friends lead.
Julius Ryan walked. An error by the Falcon third baseman scored him and Ottawa was down 4-2. In the bottom of the seventh, the Falcons scored five runs to take a 9-2 lead. Friends scored two more runs in the bottom of the eighth to take an 11-2 lead.
Ottawa was unable to rally and the Falcons took the 11-2 victory.
