OTTAWA, Kan. – Ottawa University men's basketball head coach Jamie Batish has announced the promotion of Hunter Lewis to top assistant coach for the Braves.

Lewis, who joined the Ottawa coaching staff as a student assistant 2021-22 and was promoted to an assistant in 2024-25. "I am excited to elevate Hunter into this role," said Batish. "He has consistently shown a strong commitment to our student-athletes and to the overall vision of our program. His work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to build meaningful relationships make him an outstanding coach and leader for our team moving forward."

In his new position as top assistant, Lewis will take on an expanded role in recruiting, game planning, and player development, while continuing to support the academic and personal growth of the Braves' student-athletes.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this program in an expanded role," Lewis said. "Coach Batish, our staff, and our players have created a culture I'm proud to be a part of. I'm excited to keep building on that foundation and help our team reach its goals."
