(RV) Women's Lacrosse On the Road At William Jewell For Season Opener

OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa women's lacrosse team begins their season on the road as they travel to William Jewell.

The Braves are coming off an 8-9 season which included a 5-2 conference record and a Heart Tournament semifinal appearance.
Ottawa returns 13 players from last year's roster and added four newcomers for a roster of 17 this season.
The Braves return all six of their All-Heart players from a year before: Josylnn Erskine, Ashlyn Lopez, KaiAnna Senne, Rilee Barnett, Brianna Valadao, and Curstin Brown.
William Jewell has played one game so far, a 4-17 loss to Missouri Western at home on Friday.
Four players scored one goal each, two made one assist each. Brynn Devers made nine saves in goal for a .346 save percentage.
In 2025, William Jewell finished 7-10 with a 2-5 GLVC record.
This will be the first meeting between Ottawa and William Jewell.
Ottawa is 2-8 all-time in season openers and 5-4 in road openers.
This is the earliest season opener for Ottawa since their inaugural game as a program, an 8-13 road loss to Dallas on February 7, 2016.
Ottawa is searching for their first win over an NCAA Division II opponent, they are currently 0-8 against such teams. Their last matchup against one was a 5-20 home loss to Quincy last season.
William Jewell is 1-2 against NAIA programs all time, their lone win coming in their inaugural game as a program, 24-0 at Missouri Valley in 2024.
