Women's Basketball Signs Baldwin High Standout Chloe Neufeld

OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa University women's basketball program is pleased to announce the signing of Chloe Neufeld for the 2026-27 season. She is from Baldwin City, Kan. and attends Baldwin High School.

Neufeld lettered in basketball and soccer at Baldwin High School. She demonstrated exceptional leadership and involvement throughout her high school career. Neufeld was selected and served as STUCO class president 3 years (freshman, sophomore, and junior years) and then was voted Student Body President her senior year and will be speaking on behalf of the senior class at graduation. She also has held roles as President of the Prom Committee, Chairman of the Pep Assembly Committee, manager of the boys soccer team and was a CNA.

Her commitment to service and school spirit extended across numerous organizations and leadership positions, including the Mardi Gras Diversity Club, Acapella, Choir, Stand Up to Cancer, TRAP, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and most notably the National Honor Society in which Chloe carries a 4.0 GPA.

Athletically and academically, Neufeld achieved remarkable success. She helped lead her team to the KSHSAA 4A State Soccer Tournament in 2023 and earned Regional Champion honors in soccer. She also competed at the State Solo & Small Ensemble level and qualified for the State Clay Target Tournament.

Neufeld consistently earned Honor Roll recognition and distinguished herself in basketball and soccer. In basketball, she received All-State honors, All-Frontier League recognition, All-Area honors from the Lawrence Journal-World, and was named to both the Top Gun All-Tournament Team and Top Gun All-Academic Team. In soccer, she earned All-State honors, was the leader in most goals scored, received All-League recognition, and was selected to the Kansas All-Star Team.

"We're absolutely juiced to welcome Chloe to our program," said OU head women's basketball coach Hunter Bondurant. "Sometimes you don't have to look very far to find something special - and in Chloe's case, we found it right in our own backyard. She's a local legend for a reason! Chloe's an athletic, tough-minded point guard who is light years ahead of most players her age when it comes to leadership and work ethic. We can't wait to get her on campus and officially welcome her and her whole family into Brave Nation!"

Neufeld is the daughter of Stacy Neufeld and Kelly Neufeld and plans to major in exercise science. She played travel ball for MoKan under coach Sarah Able.

Neufeld is the youngest of three sisters in a family with a strong collegiate athletic background. Her sister Madeline competed in track and field at Kansas State University, while her sister Karly played basketball at Washburn University.

Athletics also run deep in her extended family. Her mother played collegiate golf at New Mexico State University, and her grandfather, Spencer Puls (1961–63), was a member of the football program at Kansas State University.
