OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's basketball program has once again been recognized among the nation's top academic teams, earning a place in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls for the 2025-26 season.

The Braves finished 10th in the NAIA with a 3.695 team grade-point average, marking the third consecutive season Ottawa has been recognized by the WBCA and the highest ranking in program history.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls recognize collegiate women's basketball programs that achieve the highest combined team GPAs during the academic year. To be eligible, teams must post a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be nominated by a WBCA-member head coach.

Ottawa joined an impressive list of NAIA programs recognized by the WBCA, with Bethel (Tenn.) leading the division with a 3.829 team GPA. Hastings, Tabor, Southeastern, and Grace rounded out the top five.

"We are incredibly excited to see our team's hard work in the classroom recognized by the WBCA," said Ottawa head coach Hunter Bondurant. "I'm personally very proud that we've earned a spot on this list three consecutive years while continuing to climb the rankings each season. Being named one of the nation's Top 25 All-Academic Teams is one of our program goals every year, and it's rewarding to see our student-athletes' commitment to excellence both on the court and in the classroom recognized at the national level."

The national recognition highlights the continued emphasis Ottawa women's basketball places on academic achievement in addition to success on the court. The Braves have established themselves as one of the NAIA's premier academic programs, improving their standing in the WBCA rankings each of the past three seasons.

The 2025-26 season marked the 31st year the WBCA has recognized the nation's top academic women's basketball programs. Across all collegiate divisions, 119 teams earned recognition for their commitment to excellence in the classroom.
