Baseball Moves Past Tabor, 10-0

HILLSBORO, Kan. - The bats came alive in a big way Tuesday afternoon as Ottawa University rolled to a commanding 10-0 shutout over Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan. at Tabor Bluejay Field.

Turning Point: The Five-Run Fifth
Clinging to a 4-0 lead entering the fifth, Ottawa buried any hopes of a comeback with a six-run avalanche.
  • Jose. Lopez launched his second homer of the day to spark the inning.
  • Julius. Ryan ripped a two-run double to right.
  • Kaiden Hoapili crushed a three-run blast to cap the outburst.
In a blink, the Braves had stretched the margin to 10-0 — more than enough for a pitching staff that was in full control all afternoon.

By the Numbers
  • Hits: Ottawa 8 | Tabor 7
  • Errors: Ottawa 0 | Tabor 2
  • Left on Base: Ottawa 1 | Tabor 8
  • Extra-Base Hits: 5 (3 HR, 1 2B, plus Ja. Ryan 2B)
  • Strikeouts (Pitching): 12
Ottawa made its opportunities count. Eight hits turned into 10 runs. Tabor stranded eight runners and went 0-for in clutch situations.

Braves Offensive Leaders The long ball fueled everything. Three homers accounted for six of the 10 runs as Ottawa's middle of the order overwhelmed Tabor pitching.

Dominant on the Mound Despite allowing seven hits and six walks, Ottawa pitchers slammed the door when it mattered — stranding eight Bluejays and striking out 12.
Tabor threatened in the second and third innings, loading the bases in both frames, but came away empty each time. That was the game in a nutshell: traffic, but no destination.
