LINCOLN, Neb. - The Ottawa women's beach volleyball team ran into a powerhouse lineup Monday, falling 5-0 to the University of Nebraska.

Nebraska controlled the match from the opening serve, sweeping all five scoring flights in straight sets and adding two exhibition victories to complete the dominant showing.

At No. 1, Laney Choboy and Skyler Pierce set the tone early, defeating Carson Schuman and Hollie Peters, 21-14, 21-9. Ottawa battled at the top spot, but Nebraska's aggressive serving and defensive coverage proved too much to overcome.

The closest contest of the day came at No. 2, where Andi Jackson and Harper Murray edged Madison Brauner and Bailee Nickel in a tight second set. After taking the opener 21-16, the Nebraska pair outlasted Ottawa 22-20 to secure the straight-sets win.

Nebraska continued to roll at No. 3, as Olivia Mauch and Jayden Robinson topped Makela Martinez and Janessa Ross, 21-9, 21-13. The Cornhuskers' consistency at the net and in transition kept Ottawa from finding rhythm offensively.

At No. 4, Keri Leimbach and Manaia Ogbechie delivered a 21-5, 21-12 victory over Madison Holcomb and Samantha Young, while the No. 5 duo of Virginia Adriano and Gabby DiVita closed out the sweep with a 21-13, 21-8 win against Brenna Diller and Brittan Lee.

Nebraska also claimed both exhibition matches. Kenna Cogill and Campbell Flynn earned a 21-5, 21-11 victory over Teagan Norman and Olivia Lewis, and Ryan Hunter and Keoni Williams followed with a 21-14, 21-11 win against Alexia Maynes and Jezebel Hobbs.
