Six Braves Earn All-American Honors at the NAIA Women's Wrestling Championships

PARK CITY, Kan. - Six Braves Earned All-American honors at the NAIA Women's Wrestling Championships. Aynsley Fink, Aileen Lester, Darby Weidl, Siara Arrington, Hannah Jackson and KyLee Lindsley. Addison Saporito, Sigrun Metzger, Justice Thomas and Kena Leonard also battled at the Championships as well.

Ottawa finished ninth as a team and that is the highest finish in program history. The six All-Americans are also the most in program history.

Aynsley Fink placed seventh overall in the 103lb to earn All-American honors. Finkstarted the Championships with a 10-0 technical fall victory over Makayla Young (Indiana Tech), she fell in her next match but responded by winning two matches to earn seventh. Addison Saporito won one match against Chloe Herrick (Baker) in the 110lb weight class. Sigrun Metzger defeated two opponents including Gloria Diaz (Eastern Oregon) and Yusneiry Agrazal (Central Methodist) in the 117lb weight class.

Aileen Lester earned her way to the NAIA Semifinals by defeating Makayla Correa (Southern Oregon) and Skylur Lewis (Saint Mary). She fell in her next matches but earned sixth place and All-American honors. Darby Weidl started the Championships with two straight wins over Makayla Munoz (Oklahoma City) and Micah Fisher-Miller (CMSK) before falling to defending national champion Latifah McBryde (Life) in the NAIA Quarterfinals. Weidl would go on to place eighth and earning All-American honors as well.

Siara Arrington won five matches in the 180lb weight division, she defeated opponents from William Penn, CMSK, Baker and Missouri Baptist. Arrington would place fifth to earn All-American honors. Hannah Jackson won all her matches by decisions in the 180lb weight class, Jackson finished sixth overall to become an All-American.

KyLee Lindsley fell in her first match but responded with three straight victories to earn her  a place on the podium. Lindsley secured seventh place after winning her last match on a fall to earn All-American honors. Kena Leonard had an upset victory over Jessica Rodriguez (Doane) in the 207lb weight class.
