OZARK, Mo. – The Ottawa University women's beach volleyball team competed against Oklahoma Wesleyan University and Southwest Baptist University at Beach Volleyball Ozark on Saturday, March 14.
Oklahoma Wesleyan – L, 1-4
The Ottawa University beach volleyball team picked up a hard-fought point at the top flight, but Oklahoma Wesleyan ultimately claimed a 4-1 team victory on Friday.
Ottawa's highlight came at the No. 1 pairing, where
Carson Schuman and
Hollie Peters delivered a gritty three-set win. After taking the opening set 21-13, the duo dropped a tight second set before regrouping to dominate the third, 15-8, securing the Braves' lone point of the dual.
Oklahoma Wesleyan responded with depth across the rest of the lineup, sweeping the remaining four matches in straight sets to seal the team win.

Despite the sweep, the Braves showed resilience—especially in the top and No. 2 flights—pushing their opponents in closely contested sets.
Ottawa's No. 1 pair of
Carson Schuman and
Hollie Peters kept things competitive, falling 21-15, 21-16 after hanging around throughout both sets. The closest match of the day came at No. 2, where
Brenna Diller and
Brittan Lee pushed Southwest Baptist to the brink in the opening set before dropping a tough 26-24 decision. The duo stayed within striking distance in set two but fell 21-19.
At No. 5,
Madison Holcomb and
Olivia Lewis provided a highlight for the Braves, claiming Ottawa's lone set victory of the day with an 21-18 win in the opener. After Southwest Baptist responded in set two, the match went to a decisive third set before the Bearcats pulled away late.
Southwest Baptist secured straight-set victories in the No. 3 and No. 4 flights to round out the dual.
