OTTAWA, Kan - (20) Ottawa used timely hitting, aggressive base running, and dominant pitching to pull away from the University of Saint Mary for a convincing 9-2 victory at Alumni Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Ottawa wasted no time setting the tone in the first inning. After putting runners on,
Julius Ryan drove in a run while pressure on the base paths forced a Saint Mary error, allowing two runs to score and giving the Braves a quick 2-0 lead.
The Braves added another run in the second as
Branden Franz laced an RBI double down the left field line to extend the advantage to 3-0.
After a few quiet innings, Ottawa delivered the knockout punch in the fifth.
Garrett Dodd crushed a two-run home run to left field, pushing the lead to 5-0 and igniting the Braves' offense.
Ottawa continued to capitalize on Saint Mary miscues in the sixth, plating another run to make it 6-0.
Saint Mary finally broke through in the seventh with an unearned run, but the Braves answered immediately in the bottom half.
Dylan Snead brought in a run with a sacrifice fly before
Jeremy Freeman, Jr. delivered a two-RBI single to blow the game open at 9-1.
Saint Mary added one more in the eighth, but Ottawa's bullpen shut the door the rest of the way to secure the 9-2 win.
On the mound,
Kenneth Johnson was outstanding, keeping Saint Mary off balance all afternoon and setting the tone for the Braves' dominant performance.
