Marshalltown Community College: Whitmore earned two letters in volleyball for Marshalltown Community College. In 2013 she earned Player of the Week honors and was a Second Team All-Academic selection. As a sophomore, Whitmore appeared in 153 sets and 42 matches. She had 23 kills, 23 assists, 30 service aces, and 544 digs. Whitmore had a career high 29 digs against South Suburban College. In her first collegiate season, she appeared in 129 sets and 38 matches for MCC. Whitmore finished the year with 74 kills, 10 assists, 46 service aces, and 364 digs. She had a season high 22 digs versus Allen Community College.

High School: At East Marshall High School Whitmore lettered in softball, volleyball, and basketball for the Mustangs. She helped lead EMHS to the 2012 Iowa Softball State Tournament and she appeared the Senior All-Star Game.
