Labette Community College:

Furr earned two letters in wrestling for Labette Community College. In his sophomore season, Furr finished the year with an 8-8 record with one pin. He was the NWCA Open Tournament Champion at 125 pounds. As a freshman Furr went 10-17 and was named to the NWCA All-Academic team. He was a member of the LCC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and served as a Student Ambassador.

High School: At Mannford High School, Furr earned four letters in wrestling and cross country. He also earned four letters in track for the Pirates. In wrestling, Furr was a four-time conference champion and state qualifier. At the state wrestling meet, he placed second and third for the Pirates. Furr finished his four year career with a record of 132-15. He participated in the 2013 All-Star Duals held in Noble, Okla. As a member of the cross country team, Furr was all-state.
