2017: As a redshirt junior, Nieves played and started in 45 games for the Braves. He had 53 hits in 173 at bats for a .306 batting average. Nieves scored 48 runs and hit 10 doubles and three homeruns. He drove in 27 runs, had a .416 slugging percentage, walked 19 times, was hit by a pitch twice, had a .376 on base percentage, and went 3-for-4 in stolen base attempts.
2016: Redshirt
Iowa Lakes Community College: Nieves earned two letters on the baseball diamond at ILCC. He helped ILCC to two conference tournaments. Nieves led the team his sophomore season in hits, doubles, triples, walks and stolen bases. He was second on the team in RBIs and runs scored. Nieves earned All-Conference honors as a freshman was was an Honorable Mention All-Region II selection. His sophomore season he hit .329 with 33 RBI, 38 runs scored, and eight stolen bases. Nieves had 19 multi-hit games with a career four against Massasoit (3/16/15). In his freshman season, Nieves hit .314 with 23 RBI, one homerun, 28 runs scored, and seven stolen bases. He had 12 multi-hit games for ILCC.
