High School: Talbert was a two-time state qualifier while wresting for Olathe Northwest under coach Steve Mesa. He has also earned honors as the Sunflower League Runner-Up and the 6A Regional Runner-Up. Talbert was a two-year captain for the Olathe Northwest wrestling team and was a three year letterman.

Personal: Son of Tausha Hammett ... business administration major. His mother, Tausha, earned her MBA from Ottawa University who received her MBA at Ottawa University.
