2022-23: Johnson was a member of the varsity reserve team in his redshirt freshman season. He appeared in three varsity game. Johnson averaged one point and 0.3 rebounds in those three appearances.

2021-22: Johnson played in three games, averaging 5.7 points and two rebounds per game before taking a medical redshirt.

Combine Academy: Johnson spent the 2020-21 season at Combine Academy in Charlotte, N.C.

High School: At Ottawa High School, he was a four-year letterman for the Cyclones. Johnson was a three-time All-Frontier League selection, earned All-State honors three times, was a three-time All-Area selection, and was named to the Basehor Linwood All-Tournament Team three times.

Personal: Son of Darnell Johnson and Melanie Herken ... marketing major. His father, Darnell, played basketball at OU from 1988-90, earning Honorable Mention All-KCAC honors in 1989-90. Johnson’s mother, Melanie, was a member of the OU women’s basketball team from 1993-95.  He played travel ball for Run GMC under coach Eric Stamps.
