2014: Reed played on the junior varsity team as a freshman.

High School: Reed was a two-year letterman in football and earned one letter in track for Rose Hill High School (2011-13) and for the Independent School (2013-14).  He was a member of the 2011 Kansas 4A State Championship team at RHHS and was a Kansas 3A state qualifier in the 4x100M at the Kansas State Track and Field Championships in 2013 for The Independent High School. As a junior at RHHS, Reed led the team in interceptions and was second in solo tackles for the Rockets. In his senior season at The Independent, he played quarterback and amassed 1,375 yards of total offense, threw for 11 touchdowns, and rushed for nine more.  He earned Honorable Mention All-Central Plains honors at quarterback in 2013.
