OTTAWA, Kan. – The No. 6 Ottawa University men's wrestling team improved to a 4-0 dual record so far this season, taking down the Friends Falcons 38-9 on Thursday evening inside Wilson Field House.
Diago Hernandez started the dual for Ottawa at 125lbs, winning by fall over Friends' Izaiah Smith.
Braden Ledford (133lbs) and
Parker Wright (149lbs) followed with decision wins at their respective weight classes.
Dayton Hill set the tone early at 165lbs and dominated in a quick two round 22-5 technical fall.
Jordan Lomeli followed with a hard fought 10-4 decision win over Falcons' Jason Bowers at 174lbs.
The Braves saved the best for last, with two wins by fall at 184lbs and 197lbs. Freshman
Spencer Rochelle made the most of his opportunity at 184lbs, taking down Friends' Damien Hill. Rochelle pumped up Wilson Field House, which got even more rowdy following
Xavier Schechter's win by fall at 197lbs.
