OTTAWA, Kan. - The (RV) Braves have a quick turnaround as they head to the Avila Duals on Friday, December 16th in Kansas City, Missouri.

Ottawa defeated Friends on Thursday in Wilson Field House, 35-9. Angelique Martinez, Olivia O'Donnell, Macey Gross, Livia Swift, Madelynn Griffin, Ingrid Beltran-Gonzaga and Darby Weidl all won their matches. Weidl wrestled a weight class up and won her match on a pin.
 
Ottawa went 4-1 at the William Penn Duals on December 10th; the Braves defeated William Penn, William Penn JV, Midland and Iowa Western. Ottawa fell short to Iowa Central, 25-12.
 
Darby Weidl was named KCAC Wrestler of the Week for her performance at the William Penn Duals.
 
Ottawa is Receiving Votes in the latest NAIA Top 20 Coaches' Poll. Darby Weidl stays at #10 in the NAIA Individual Rankings in the 170lb weight division. Freshman Livia Swift moves into the rankings in the 143lb weight division, Swift is ranked 17th in the rankings.
 
Ottawa women's wrestling won shoes from Yes! Athletics and will be wearing the shoes throughout the season.
