OTTAWA, Kan. – For the second time this season, Ottawa University senior first baseman
Holland Boan has been named NAIA Player of the Week. He is the first OU baseball player to earn the award twice in the same season.
Boan, who is from Pike Road, Ala., leads the NAIA in home runs with 26. He hit six of those in OU's three game series against no. 22 Tabor College at Alumni Park last weekend. In those three games, Boan went 7-for-11 at the plate and finished with a .636 batting average. He scored seven runs, had 11 RBI, finished with a 2.273 slugging percentage, was walked four times, only struck out once, and had a .733 on base percentage.
Ottawa University returns to the diamond today in a road game against the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
