OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University baseball team has won four straight games after its sweep of Northwestern College on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Park. Ottawa won game one, 13-0, and took game two, 8-3.
Game One
Ottawa broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the third inning. Walks by
Luis DeLeon and
Jonah Weisner gave the Braves runners on first and second. An error by the Red Raider third baseman put
Tyler Farnham on first and scored DeLeon to give OU a 1-0 lead.
Lukas Rich walked, loading the bases for the Braves.
Nicholas Sizemore's walk scored Weisner, increasing the OU lead to 2-0.
Connor Jeffers was then hit by a pitch, scoring Farman and OU led 3-0.
Ottawa increased its lead in the bottom of the fourth. DeLeon reached first on a walk and the swiped second. An error by the NWC catcher moved DeLeon to third.
Tyler Farnham hit an infield single to third, scoring DeLeon and Ottawa had a 4-0 lead.
OU broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth. The Ottawa offense scored nine runs on six hits, taking the lead and the game 13-0.

- Jonah Weisner went 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring two runs, and finishing with two RBI.
- Cole Broughton led the Braves with four RBI.
- Robby Williams and Broughton hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Game Two
Northwestern took the early lead over the Braves, scoring on an OU miscue to take a 1-0 lead. Ottawa tied the game in its bottom half of the inning.
Jonah Weisner singled up the middle and then scored on a double down the left field line by
Tyler Farnham.
In the bottom of the second inning, Ottawa pushed two runs across home plate to take the lead.
Connor Jeffers reached first after being hit by a pitch.
Brandon Kelley connected on his first varsity collegiate home run and OU had a 3-1 lead.
Ottawa continued to put pressure on the Red Raider defense, scoring four runs in the bottom of the third inning. Farnham led off with a double down the left field line. A walk by
Cole Broughton gave OU runners at first and second. Farnham and Broughton pulled off a double steal and OU had two runners in scoring position.
Nicholas Sizemore came through with a double to left, scoring both Farnham and Broughton to give OU a 5-1 lead. Jeffers followed that with a single to left, scoring Sizemore and OU had a 6-1 lead. Jeffers scored the final run of the inning for OU on a pop up to second base by
Brent Swearingen, giving OU a 7-1 lead.
Northwestern cut into the OU lead with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, 7-3. After a scoreless fifth inning, Ottawa scored one more run in the bottom of the sixth. With two outs, Broughton and
Lukas Rich reached base after being hit by a pitch.
NWC had a pitching change but that didn't seem to matter as Sizemore was the third straight Brave to reach base after getting hit. Jeffers walked, scoring Broughton and OU had an 8-3 lead. In the top of the seventh it was three up and three down for OU as the Braves took the 8-3 victory.
