The Braves are on a four game winning streak with a sweep of Northwestern College last weekend at Alumni Park. In the series, Ottawa hit .300, scored 35 runs, hit six doubles, one triple, four home runs, drove in 30 runs, had a .500 slugging percentage, walked 18 times, was hit by a pitch 11 times, struck out 22 times, had a .450 on base percentage, and was 9-for-9 in stolen base attempts. The OU pitching staff had a 2.57 ERA, striking out 17 in 28 innings. Northwestern hit .198 against the Braves.

Brandon Kelley had a good series against the Red Raiders. The sophomore hit .750 (6-for-8), drove in six, hit his first varsity home run, had a 1.250 slugging percentage, and a .800 on base percentage.

Brandon Kelley leads the Braves in batting average (.579), Cole Broughton is OU's leader in RBI (18), Ryan Olchoway is the team's leader in ERA (3.18), and Tyler Bryant is the Braves leader in strike outs (21).

Through 13 games this season, Ottawa has a .288 batting average, a .386 on base percentage, and a .469 slugging percentage. The Braves have hit 10 home runs and scored 87 runs.

In Ottawa's eight wins this season, the Braves have a .313 batting average and has scored an average of 7.3 runs per game. In its five losses, OU is hitting .255 and has scored an average of 4.2 runs per game.

This is the first time that the two teams have played each other.

Viterbo University is 0-4 to open the 2023 season. The V-Hawks fell to Evangel (6-3) and William Woods (8-6) on Feb. 17 and to Morningside (14-13) and William Penn (13-3) on Feb. 18.

Through four games this season, the V-Hawks have a .287 batting average, a .403 on base percentage, and a .409 slugging percentage. Viterbo has hit three home runs and scored 25 runs.
