TOPEKA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's basketball team fell 97-57 in an exhibition game against Washburn University on Tuesday night in Lee Arena.
Washburn led 11-4 in the opening minutes of the first half. The Ichabods pushed their lead to double digits, 20-8, with 13:04 on the clock. A 3-pt field goal by
Deondre Buggage cut the deficit to nine points, 20-11.
The Ichabods responded with a 9-0 run, increasing their lead to 29-11. Ottawa cut the Washburn lead to 33-19 on a layup by
PJ Twa with 7:25 remaining in the first half. WU responded by ending the half on an 18-7 run, taking a 51-26 lead into the locker room.
In the second half, Ottawa was not able to cut into the Ichabod lead and Washburn took the 97-57 victory.
