OTTAWA, Kan. – The #11 Ottawa Women's Wrestling team is returning to action on Saturday at the Doane Open in Crete, Nebraska.
Ottawa last competed at the Missouri Valley Open on November 23
rd. Almarwa Akhalil won two matches in the 103lb weight division.
Aynsley Fink secured two wins in the 110lb weight division.
Kendall Martin went 2-2 in the 117lb weight class.
Addison Saporito won three matches in the 124lb weight class.
Peyton Hand also won three matches in the 124lb weight division.
Madison Rich won one match in the 131lb weight division.
In the 138lb weight class,
Livia Swift won three matches.
Ingrid Beltran-Gonzaga picked up one win in the 145lb weight division.
Leilani Caamal won one match also in the 145lb weight class.
Darby Weidl took home fourth place in the 160lb weight class by going 6-2 on the day.
Siara Arrington defeated two opponents and
GiGi Jones secured a win in the 160lb weight division.
Kaylee Davis went 3-2 and Ciera Hutton Spieker won one match in the 180lb weight class.
Hannah Jackson placed sixth overall in the 207lb weight division by winning four matches on the day.
Kena Leonard defeated three opponents,
Faith Spicer took down one and Daija Anderson won one match in the 207lb weigh division as well.
Darby Weidl earned KCAC Wrestler of the Week during the week for her performance at the Missouri Valley Open. She wrestled in eight matches and went 6-2 in the two days.
Ottawa moves up one spot to #11 in the latest NAIA Top 20 Poll.
Aynsley Fink is ranked 16
th in the 110lb weight division,
Addison Saporito is #12 in the 117lb weight class and
Kendall Martin is #17 in the 117lb weight division,
Peyton Hand is 13
th in the 124lb weight division and
Emma Truex is #19 in the 124lb weight division,
Livia Swift comes in at 13
th in the 138lb weight division,
Kaydence Bonewell is 15
th in the 145lb weight class,
Darby Weidl is ranked 12
th in the 160lb weight division,
Kaylee Davis is 14
th in the 180lb weight division. In the 207lb weight division,
Hannah Jackson is ranked fourth overall.
After the Doane Open, Ottawa will compete at the Eagle Duals hosted by Avila University on December 13
th in Kansas City, Missouri.
