Box Score 2 FORT WORTH, Texas – The (17) Ottawa University softball team split with Texas Wesleyan University on Friday afternoon at Sycamore Park. OU fell 6-5 in game one but took game two, 8-1.
Game One
Ottawa broke the scoreless tie in the top of the third inning. With two outs,
Kara Hafenstine walked.
Reagan Hammons connected on her third home run of the season, giving OU a 2-0 lead.
Texas Wesleyan tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and then took the lead with a run in the bottom of the fifth, 3-2.
Ottawa rallied in the top of the seventh. Two straight walks by
Megan Kennedy and
Macey Morris gave OU runners at first and second.
Addison Spencer's ground out to first moved both Morris and Kennedy into scoring position.
Katie Enneking doubled to center, scoring both Morris and Kennedy to give OU a 4-3 lead. Hafenstine followed that with a single, scoring Enneking and Ottawa had a 5-3 lead.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Rams rallied to score three runs and took the 6-5 win over the Braves.

Game Two
Ottawa struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. With two outs,
Katie Enneking singled to left.
Kara Hafenstine was hit by a pitch and OU had runners on first and second.
Reagan Hammons singled, scoring Enneking and Ottawa had the early 1-0 lead.
OU extended its lead in the top of the third inning. Hafenstine walked and then advanced to second on a ground out by Hammons.
Nayely Delgado doubled, scoring Hafenstine to give OU a 2-0 lead. OU increased its lead on a
Morgan Bradford home run, her first home run this season, and Ottawa had a 4-0 lead.
In the top of the fourth, Ottawa pushed one more run across home plate. Hafenstine connected on a triple and then scored on a passed ball and the Braves had a 5-0 lead.
The Braves were able to score three more runs in the top of the seventh.
Reagan Hammons walked. Delgado's single moved Hammons 60 feet from home. Bradford scored Hammons with a ground out to second and Ottawa led 6-0.
Megan Kennedy grounded out to second, advancing Delgado to third.
Rachel Pederson singled to center, scoring Delgado and giving OU a 7-0 lead. Ottawa scored one more run in the inning on
Macy Roever's double and the Braves had an 8-0 lead.
The Rams cut into OU's lead with a run in the bottom of the seventh, but it was too little, too late and OU took the 8-1 victory.
