PARK CITY, Kan. – The Ottawa University wrestling team had 11 wrestlers compete at the NAIA National Wrestling Championship on Thursday-Saturday.

Braden Anderson,
JD Perez,
Jordan Lomeli and
Tucker Tomlinson were the 11 for Ottawa.
JD Perez and
Francis Morrissey earned NAIA All-American honors by placing at the Championships. Perez had the highest finish since Tyler Hinton in 2015-16, he earned third place which is also his highest finish of his career. Perez has finished fifth and sixth but now he adds a third place finish in the 184lb to his accolades. He is also the first Ottawa wrestler to be a three-time NAIA All-American. Morrissey placed seventh overall and earned his way to be an All-American.
Francis Morrissey won three matches at the Championships, he defeated #6 Dylan Whitt (Grand View) in the 7
th place match in the 157lb weight class on an 8-3 decision.
Ben Mitchell won one match in the 157lb weight division.
Dayton Hill also won one match at the Championships in the 165lb weight class.
Braden Anderson won two matches in the 174lb weight division, Anderson won both by decisions.
JD Perez went 5-1 at the Championships. Perez won the third place match on a 6-0 decision over #4 William Speight (Lourdes).
Tucker Tomlinson finished his career at Ottawa by winning two matches in the 197lb weight class.
