OTTAWA, Kan. – The (RV) Ottawa University baseball team extended its winning streak to five games with a 14-0 victory in seven innings over non-conference opponent Peru State College on Tuesday afternoon.
Ottawa struck first, taking the lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Julius Ryan led off the inning with a walk.
Dylan Garcia hit a home run to center field, scoring Ryan and the Braves led 2-0.
The Braves extended their lead in the bottom of the second inning.
Jaquavius Davis singled to center. He scored on a single to right by
Jeremy Freeman, Jr. and the Braves led 3-0. Freeman stole second and third, giving OU a runner 90 feet from home. Ryan's sacrifice bunt scored Freeman, giving OU a 4-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth, Ottawa pushed six runs across home plate, taking a 10-0 lead over the Bobcats. The Braves then scored four more runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead and the game 14-0.
