12 Braves Named to the 2025 All-KCAC Baseball Teams

OTTAWA, Kan. – The 2025 All-KCAC Teams have been released the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. Ottawa University has 12 players named to the All-KCAC Teams: Dylan Garcia, Luis Diaz, Jackson Alaniz, Jaquavius Davis, Shaun Gomez, Jr., Ryan Wilwers, Fawster Voytko, Nick Sizemore, Jeremy Freeman, Jr., Cole Broughton, and Zack Melendez. Julius Ryan was named to the KCAC Gold Glove Team at third base.

Garcia, an infielder from Fort Worth, Texas, was named First Team All-KCAC as a utility player. In 51 games this season, he hit .375 (63-for-168), scored 50 runs, hit 15 doubles and 16 home runs, drove in 54 runs, had a .750 slugging percentage, walked 23 times, was hit by a pitch 17 times, had a .484 on base percentage, and was 8-for-9 in stolen base opportunities. Garcia was named KCAC Player of the Week once this past season.

Diaz, a relief pitcher from Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico, earned First Team All-KCAC honors. He appeared in 17 games this past season, finishing with a 4.25 ERA and a 2-1 record. In 29.2 innings, Diaz truck out 49. Opponents had a .229 batting average against him.

Alaniz, a catcher from Laredo, Texas, was named Second Team All-KCAC. He earned KCAC Player of the Week honors once this past season. In 46 games, Alaniz hit .382 (55-for-144), scored 21 runs, hit 19 doubles, one triple, and 11 home runs. He drove in 49 runs, had a .757 slugging percentage, walked 15 times, was hit by a pitch three times, had a .448 on base percentage, and was 3-for-4 in stolen base opportunities.

Davis, an outfielder from Dallas, Texas, earned Second Team All-KCAC honors. In 44 games this season, he was 53-for-134 at the plate to finish the season with a .396 batting average. He scored 45 runs, hit 14 doubles and 11 home runs, had 43 RBI, a .746 slugging percentage, walked five times, was hit by a pitch three times, had a .427 on base percentage, and was 14-for-17 in stolen base opportunities. Davis was named KCAC Player of the Week once this past season.

Gomez, a DH from Topeka, Kan., was named Second Team All-KCAC. In 43 games this season, Gomez hit .371 (43-for-116), scored 48 runs, hit seven doubles and 14 home runs, had 38 RBI, a .793 slugging percentage, walked 35 times, was hit by a pitch 13 times, had a .555 on base percentage, and he was 10-for-11 in stolen base attempts.

Wilwers, a starting pitcher from Marengo, Ill., earned Second Team All-KCAC. He has a 5-1 record, making 13 starts for the Braves. Wilwers has a 4.62 ERA, striking out 76 in 64.1 innings. Opponents have a .254 batting average against him.

Voytko, a starting pitcher from El Paso, Texas, was a Second Team All-KCAC selection. He made 13 appearances with 12 starts on the mound for the Braves. Voytko has a 4.22 ERA and a 7-1 record. In 59.2 innings, he has struck out 65 and opponents have a .265 batting average against him.

Sizemore, a catcher and outfielder from Pryor, Okla., was named Third Team All-KCAC as a utility player. In 48 games this season, he has a .298 batting average (42-for-141), scored 23 runs, has hit nine doubles, one triple, and 12 home runs. Sizemore has driven in 40 runs, has a .631 slugging percentage, walked 15 times, been hit by a pitch eight times, has a .392 on base percentage, and was 2-for-3 in stolen base attempts.

Freeman, an outfielder from Chicago, Ill, earned Third Team All-KCAC honors. He was named KCAC Player of the Week once this past season. In 48 games, Freeman hit .340 (50-for-147), scored 42 runs, hit eight doubles, two triples, and four home runs. He has driven in 36 runs, has a .503 slugging percentage, walked 23 times, has been hit by a pitch eight times, has a .448 slugging percentage and broke the OU single season stolen base record. He is 40-for-46 in stolen base attempts.

Broughton, an outfielder from Tushke, Okla., was named Third Team All-KCAC. He twice was named KCAC Player of the Week. Broughton hit .385 (60-for-156) in 45 games this season. He scored 47 runs, hit six doubles, one triple, and 11 home runs. Broughton drove in 51 runs, had a .647 slugging percentage, walked 12 times, was hit by a pitch eight times, had a .447 on base percentage, and was 10-for-13 in stolen base attempts.

Melendez, a starting pitcher from El Paso, Texas, was selected Third Team All-KCAC. He appeared in 13 games this season, making 10 starts. Melendez has a 3.99 ERA, striking out 66 in 58.2 innings. Opponents have a .226 batting average against him.

Ryan, an infielder from El Paso, Texas, was named to the KCAC Gold Glove Team at third base. He has a .940 fielding percentage, 43 put outs, 83 assists, and nine double plays. In 48 games this season, Ryan has a .287 batting average (39-for-136), scored 49 runs, has hit six doubles, one triple and four home runs. He has driven in 38 runs, has a .434 slugging percentage, walked 24 times, was hit by a pitch 15 times, has a .438 on base percentage, and was 24-for-30 in stolen base attempts.
