KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Torcé, France, native
Quentin Le Dortz averaged 11.92 assists per set, guiding the Braves to three wins, claiming Feb. 17 recognition as NAIA Setter of the Week. He is the first OU men's volleyball player to be named NAIA Setter of the Week since Bryce Thompson earned the honor during the 2019 season.
Le Dortz had 143 assists, seven kills, 27 digs and four blocks running OU's offense, last week claiming four-set wins over Kansas Wesleyan, UHSP (Mo.), and Missouri Baptist.
In OU's win over UHSP, Le Dortz broke the Ottawa record for single-match assists in a four-set match, with 53, and finished with a double-double in the Braves' first-ever win over Missouri Baptist on Valentine's Day.
Le Dortz recorded double-doubles in the wins over the Eutectics and Spartans, adding two blocks against MBU to match his two-block total from the week's earlier win over KWU. He finished with 52 assists against the Coyotes.
Ottawa is in action three times this week, including a Tuesday match at No. 3 Park (Mo.), where Le Dortz will meet NAIA Defender of the Week Moises Ortiz. The Braves are back home over the weekend, hosting Clarke (Iowa) Friday, and No. 12 Mount Mercy (Iowa) on Saturday.
