High School: Widen (WA - Dean) earned four letters in volleyball and one in basketball for Concordia High School. She is a two-time unanimous First Team All-North Central Kansas (NCKL) All-League selection (2011, 2012) and earned Honorable Mention All-NCKL honors as a sophomore.

As a senior, Widen ranked second in the NCKL in kills per set (3.91), led the league in passing (2.5), and was third in hitting efficiency (.317). She led the Panthers in serve percentage (.968), blocks per set (.7), and setting efficiency (.966). During her junior season, Widen was ranked third in the NCKL in kills per set (4.73) and hitting efficiency (.330). She led CHS in blocks per set (.9) and passing efficiency (2.29). As a sophomore, she led the Panthers in assists per set (4.2) and in setting efficiency (93.7). She was second in kills per set (1.9).

On the basketball court, she helped the Panthers to the Kansas 4A State Championship game in 2009.
