2014: Carlson qualified for his first NAIA Cross Country National Championship with All-KCAC finish. He ran a time of 26:23.9. At the ESU Invitational, Carlson finished with a time of 28:47. He had a time of 27:23 at the Haskell Indian Nations Invitational. Carlson finished the Bethel Invitational with a time of 27:00. At the Mid States Classic hosted by Southwestern College, he ran a time of 26:58. Carlson finished the NAIA National Championships with a time of 27:36.6.
2013: Carlson ran a time of 27:28 at the Viking Invitational hosted by Grand View University to finish 20th. He placed 3rd at the Tabor Cross Country Meet with a time of 27:08.33. Running a time of 26:38.65, Carlson finished fourth at the Haskell Indian Nations University Invite. He helped the Braves to a team title at the Bo Boucek Invitational with a time of 29:04 to finish third. Carlson ran a time of 27:32.58 to finish 20th at the KCAC Cross Country Championships.
2012: Carlson placed 22nd at the 2012 CC Invitational hosted by Colorado College with a time of 28:32. He finished with a time of 26:49.49 to place 23rd at the Haskell Indian Nations University Invitational. Carlson won his first collegiate cross country race at the OU Invitational with a time of 27:26. He finished 17th at the 2012 KCAC Cross Country Championships with a time of 28:06.7
2011: At the OU Road Race, Cole Carlson finished fourth overall with a time of 16:25. He placed 119th at the Roy Griak Cross Country Invitational with a time of 28:17.7. Carlson earned a placing of 20th with a time of 27:38.62 at the Haskell Indian Nations University Invite. He finished second with a time of 27:42.00 at the OU Invitational. Carlson placed 18th at the KCAC Cross Country Championships with a time of 28:21.65.
High School: Carlson was a four year letter winner in track, earned three letters in cross country, and two in basketball for the Bearcats of Burlingame High School. On the cross country course, he finished sixth at state in 2010, fourth in 2009 and 25th in 2008. On the track, Carlson finished 13th in the3200, 13th in the 4x800 in 2010 and 11th in the 3200 in 2009. He earned All-State in cross country twice. Carlson has a personal best in the 5K of 16:45, in the 3200 (10:08), in the 1600 (4:45), and the 800 (2:06).
Personal: Son of Ron and Bonnie Carlson ... born April 25, 1993 ... accounting major. He likes butterscotch for dessert and enjoys watching the television show “Two and a Half Men” and the move “Zombieland.” If Carlson could be an animal it would be an elk because they can run a mile in a minute. He enjoys listening to Eminem and likes to hunt in his spare time.
