Ottawa University

2013-14: Newton appeared in 28 games, making seven starts in his junior season. He averaged 3.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Newton made his first career start in an OU uniform against Oklahoma Wesleyan University (1/4). He shot 34.2 percent from the floor, 14.8 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 56 percent from the free throw line. Newton scored a career high 12 points twice with the last being against Tabor College (2/13). He had a career high 11 rebounds versus Kansas Wesleyan University (1/29), had a career high five assists against McPherson College (2/15), had a career high two blocks twice with the last being against McPherson College (1/16), and had a career high six steals versus Kansas Wesleyan University (12/7).

2012-13: Newton played in four games in his first season as a Brave. He had a season high two rebounds against the University of Saint Mary (1/12).

Neosho Community College: Newton lettered in basketball at NCCC. He averaged 4.6 points and 1.6 rebounds his sophomore season for the Panthers. Newton appeared in 18 games, shooting 48 percent from the floor and 48 percent from behind the three point line.

High School: At Colony Crest High School, Newton was an all-state and all-league selection for the Lancers.
