2016: As junior, Steinbacher was second on the team in batting average. He finished with 21 hits in 191 at bats for a .314 average. Steinbacher scored 21 runs, hit two doubles and eight triples. He drove in 42 runs, had a .414 slugging percentage, was walked 14 times, hit by a pitch four times, had a .363 on base percentage, and went 3-for-4 in stolen base attempts.
2015: Redshirt
2014: Steinbacher played in 23 games, making 17 starts behind the plate in his freshman season. He finished with 14 hits in 58 at bats for a .241 batting average. Steinbacher scored two runs, hit two doubles, had one homerun, drove in eight, had a slugging percentage of .328, was walked once, hit by a pitch twice, and had an on base percentage of .279. He made his first appearance and had his first hit against Concordia University (2/22). Steinbacher had two multi-hit games with the last being against McPherson College (3/30). His six runners caught stealing is ranked 10th in the OU record book.
High School: Steinbacher lettered in baseball for Shawnee Mission East High School. He earned Second Team All-Sunflower League honors as a designed hitter and was invited to play on the Dirt Dandies All-Star team. As a senior, Steinbacher had a .350 batting average, a .406 on base percentage, a .383 slugging percentage, and had .789 OPS.
