Mississippi Valley State University: As a junior, Clinton appeared in 34 games, making 25 starts. She pitched 13 complete games. In 164.2 innings, Clinton had a 4.63 ERA and struck out 65. In her sophomore season, Clinton pitched in 168.0 innings and struck out 68.  She had a 6.05 ERA, finishing with a record of 9-17.

High School: Clinton set a school record at Ponca City Senior High in career strikeouts (568) and career wins (76). She was a four year starter and earned Pitcher of the Year honors as a freshman. Clinton was named Team MVP and earned All-District honors as a sophomore. As a junior, she was again named Team MVP and First Team All-District. During her senior season, Clinton was named District Pitcher of the Year, Team MVP, and was selected to the All-Region Team. She was also a three year letterman in swimming. Clinton placed 13th in the 200-yard free style relay at the Oklahoma State Tournament as a junior. In her senior seaosn, she finished eighth in the 200-yard medley relay at the East REgionals and 15th at the Oklahoma State Tournament. Clinton was named most improved by her swim team as a sophomore.
