2024: Hurford made seven appearances, making one start. He had an 11.42 ERA, striking out six in 8.2 innings.
 
Southern Arkansas University: In 2023, Hurford appeared in eight games and made two starts. He pitched in 8.1 innings, had a 9.72 ERA, and struck out seven. SAU had a preseason ranking of no. 2 in the NCAA II. Hurford helped Southern Arkansas to a Great American Conference championship.

Western Nebraska Community College: In three years at WNCC, Hurford appeared in 30 games and made 23 starts. He had a record of 10-14, pitching four complete games. In 129.1 innings, Huford had a 6.75 ERA and struck out 101. He played in the Region 9 NJCAA All-Star Game and helped WNCC to a Region 9 Championship.

High School: Hurford lettered in baseball at Langley Secondary School and Lambrick Park High School.
