2023: In his first season in an OU uniform, Maldonado appeared in seven games and made five starts. He had a 10.62 ERA, striking out 20 in 20.1 innings.

Hartnell College: In 2020, Maldonado had 10 appearances and one start on the mound for HC. He finished the season with a record of 1-0 with one save. In 27 innings, Maldonado struck out 22 and had a 7.33 ERA. As a freshman in 2019, he appeared in 14 games and started one. Maldonado had a record of 2-1 with three saves. In 37.2 innings, he struck out 19 and finished the year with a 4.06 ERA. He was selected to play in the Power Summer Collegiate League (PSCL) All-Star Game. Maldonado was named Pitcher of the Week and earned Player of the Week honors in summer baseball.

High School: Maldonado lettered in baseball at Los Osos High School. He earned All-Academic honors four times.

Personal: Son of Anthony and Christa Maldonado ... business administration major. Maldonado played travel ball for ABD under coaches Jerry Jordan and Gabe Gamboa.
