2016: Redshirt

Patrick Henry Community College: Taylor earned one letters in baseball for PHCC. He played in 19 games, driving in eight runs and stealing three bases.

High School: Taylor earned three letters in football and baseball for Gunter High School. He also earned two in basketball and track for the Tigers. Taylor played in the North Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game held at Dallas Baptist University. He helped GHS to the Regional Quarterfinals as a junior and senior. Taylor was a Second Team All-District selection as a utility player his junior season. As a sophomore, he was named Second Team All-District as an outfielder. In his senior season, Taylor was named First Team All-District Infielder.
