2016: In his first collegiate season, McClanahan earned Honorable Mention All-KCAC honors and was named KCAC Freshman of the Year. He led the Braves in batting average (.369) with 80 hits in 217 at bats. McClanahan finished with 51 runs scored, five doubles, one triple, 18 RBI, a slugging percentage of .401, 23 walks, an on base percentage of .441, and he went 13-for-17 in stolen base attempts. He is ranked fourth in the NAIA in total at bats (217), 17^th in total hits (80), 18^th in at bats per game (3.9), and 41^st in hits per game (1.4).

2015: Redshirt

High School: McClanahan earned two letters in baseball, two in football, and one in golf for Bishop Ward High School. He earned Second Team All-Conference honors in the outfield as a junior and season. McClanahan helped lead the Cyclones to the 2014 Kansas State Baseball Championship.
