High School: Criss earned four letters in football, basketball, and baseball at Dexter High School. On the gridiron, he helped the Spartans to a 2018 and 2019 District Championship and three state playoff appearances. In 2019 he was a First Team All-League selection at tight end and earned Honorable Mention All-State. In 2020, He earned First Team All-League honors and was an Honorable Mention All-State selection at quarterback and defensive end. On the basketball court, Criss led DHS to a SCBL League Championship in 2018-19 and 2019-20. He earned First Team All-League honors and was an Honorable Mention All-State selection in 2019-20. In 2020-21, Criss was an All-League performer and named Second Team All-State 2A. As a member of the baseball team, he helped his team to three SCBL League Championships. Criss also was a member of the trapshooting team, helping them to two straight state championships.

Personal: Son of Stacy and K.B. Criss ... education major. Criss is the son of a coach, playing for his father throughout high school. His older brother Kason Criss played basketball and baseball at KCAC member school, Southwestern College.
