#17 Braves and Bethany Meet in Lindsborg this Weekend

The Braves are 32-5 overall and in first place in the KCAC with a record of 20-3. Ottawa is five wins away from tying its school record 37 that was set last season. The Braves are 7-2 on the road this season

This series is the third road series in KCAC play for the Braves. Ottawa is 4-2 with three victories over Oklahoma Wesleyan University on March 4 and March 5 and one win over McPherson College on March 26 and March 27.

Ottawa has won nine straight games and enter Friday afternoon's contest coming off a 7-3 victory over Avila University on Tuesday at Alumni Park. In the win Nicholas Sizemore, Tyler Farnham, and Jonah Weisner had two hits apiece. Carson Johnson led the Braves with three RBI. Josh Perez pitched in four innings, striking out two. Creede Jeffers earned the win, striking out five and did not allow a hit.

Through 37 games, the Braves have scored 332 runs and hit 60 home runs. Ottawa has a .327 batting average, a .438 on base percentage, and a .571 slugging percentage.

OU has a record of 60-45 against Bethany College and is 2-3 in its last five games against the Swedes. Bethany took the series last season, 1-2. BC won game one 11-5, Ottawa took game two, 24-13, and the Swedes won game three, 7-6. The first meeting between the teams look place on April 25, 1902 in Lindsborg. Ottawa won the game, 8-4.

Holland Boan leads the Braves in batting average (.457) and RBI (51). Tyler Bryant is the team's leader in ERA (1.67) and Hector Sepulveda leads the Braves in strike outs (86).

Holland Boan was named the NAIA and KCAC Player of the Week for his efforts last week in OU's four games against the University of Saint Mary and Southwestern College Boan is just the second OU baseball player to be named NAIA Player or Pitcher of the Week. David Mead was named NAIA Pitcher of the Week in 2018. In four games last week, Boan hit.778 (7-for-9), scored eight runs, hit one double, three home runs, drove in seven, had a 1.889 slugging percentage, was walked six times, hit by a pitch twice, had a .833 on base percentage, hit a sacrifice fly, and stole three bases. He has helped the Braves to a 31-5 record this season and a ranking of no. 17 in the NAIA.

Bethany College is 19-24 overall and tied for sixth in the KCAC with a record of 11-12. They are tied with Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The Swedes are 5-12 at home this season and are on a one game losing streak, falling 16-9 to York at home on April 12.

The Swedes have scored 257 runs and hit 27 home runs. BC has a .301 batting average, a .376 on base percentage, and a .424 slugging percentage.

Hunter Roe leads the Swedes in batting average (.367), Luis Rodriguez Gorrita is BC's leader in RBI (34), Manuel Rodriguez leads the Swedes in ERA (2.52), and Keyvan Grenald leads the team in strike outs (72).
