SALINA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's tennis team won its eighth straight match with a 5-2 victory over Kansas Wesleyan University at The Pines on Saturday morning. The Braves took the doubles point 2-1 and had a record of 4-2 in singles against the Coyotes.
Priyanshi Sharma and
Yana Goranova won their no. 1 doubles match 6-2 over Karley Benson and Zofia Selwesiuk. Julia Wiense and
Isidora Hrnjak took a 6-2 victory in no. 2 doubles over Makenzie Archer and Savannah Noel.
Goranova won her no. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-1. Hrnjak defeated Michela Crowe in no. 2 singles 6-0, 7-5. Wienese took a 0-6, 7-5, 7-6 (8-4) victory in no. 3 singles over Benson. Sharma won her no. 4 singles match 6-1, 6-3 over Archer.
Lily Keimig was defeated in her no. 5 singles match by Avery Soto.
The Braves return to action on Sunday, April 24 against Rockhurst University. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
