GREAT BEND, Kan. – The (13) Ottawa University baseball team won its fifth straight KCAC Tournament game, dating back to the 2021 season, with a 3-2 walk off win over Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Friday night.
Oklahoma Wesleyan broke the 0-0 tie in the top of the fifth inning with two runs. The Braves were able to get one of those runs back in the bottom of the fifth.
Connor Jeffers reached first after being hit by a pitch.
Logan Zozaya singled to left, moving Jeffers to third. The Eagle left fielder fell trying to field the ball and Jeffers scored, putting OU within 2-1.
Ottawa tied the game in the bottom of the sixth.
Tyler Farnham singled to right-center.
Holland Boan walked, moving Farnham to second. Matt Aguilar executed a sacrifice bunt, putting Farnham to third and Boan to second.
Nicholas Sizemore hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Farnham and the game was tied 2-2.
That is where the score stayed until the bottom of the ninth inning. Jeffers reached base with a walk.
Zachary Spradlin singled to left and Jeffers, being aggressive, moved to third. OU loaded the bases with an intentional walk of
Jonah Weisner. Boan hit a single to right, scoring Jeffers to give the Braves its sixth straight victory over the Eagles, 3-2.
