SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Ottawa University baseball team opened its Texas trip with a 7-5 loss to Our Lady of the Lake University on Wednesday night at Missions Baseball Academy.
Ottawa struck first, taking the early lead in the top of the first inning. 
Jonah Weisner led off the game with a walk. He swiped second, giving OU a runner in scoring position. 
Tyler Farnham moved Weisner to third with a ground out. 
Lukas Rich hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Weisner and OU led 1-0.
OU extended its lead over the Saints in the top of the second. 
Nicholas Sizemore reached second on an error by the left fielder. He then stole third and OU had a runner 90 feet from home. Sizemore was able to cross home plate on a passed ball, giving OU a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the second, OLLU tied the game 2-2. Ottawa retook the lead in the top of the third. Rich doubled to center and then advanced to third on a fly out by 
Cole Broughton. The Saint pitcher was called for a balk, scoring Rich to give the Braves a 3-2 lead.
The Saints tied the game again in the bottom of the fourth, 3-3. Ottawa answered with a run in the top of the fifth. Weisner tripled to right and a few pitches later, scoring on a balk to give the Braves a 4-3 lead.
OLLU answered with one run in the bottom of the fifth and three in the bottom of the sixth to take a 7-4 lead. Ottawa cut into the deficit with a run in the top of the eighth. Broughton doubled to center and then scored on an error by the Saint left fielder and the Braves were with in 7-5.
Ottawa was not able to rally in the top of the ninth and the Saints took the 7-5 victory.
