Women's Basketball is on the Road at Haskell on Monday

The Braves defeated Baker University, for the second straight season, 78-69 on Friday night in Wilson Field House. Ottawa shot 43.5 percent from the floor, 42.9 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 60 percent from the free throw line. OU had three players in double figures led by Kennedy Bankett's 22 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the floor.

Through four games this season, Ottawa is averaging 75.5 points, 42.8 rebounds, and 13.3 assists per game. OU is shooting 36.7 percent from the floor, 30.4 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 63.9 percent from the free throw line.

Kennedy Bankett leads OU in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per game. Abbie Sextro is Ottawa's leader in rebound per game, averaging 7.8. Nora Ford is the Braves' leader in assists per game (2.8), Abby Dietsche leads the team in blocks per game (3), and Bankett is the team's leader in steals per game (2.7).

Ottawa is ranked 49th in the NAIA in total points (302), 39th in field goals attempted per game (70.3), 33rd in 3-pt field goals made per game (8.5), 24th in 3-pt field goals attempted per game (28.0), 49th in free throws made per game (15.5), 32nd in free throws attempted per game (24.3), 36th in offensive rebounds per game (16.3), 30th in opponents' assists per game (9.0), 49th in turnovers per game (14.5), 23rd in opponent turnovers per game (25.3), 27th in steals per game (14.0), 28th in opponents steals per game (6.3), and 34th in blocks per game (4.0).

Away from Wilson Field House this season the Braves are scoring 65.5 points per game while allowing 74. Ottawa is shooting 33.6 percent from the floor and 31.1 percent from behind the 3-pt line. Opponents are shooting 44 percent from the floor and 34.2 percent from the free throw line.

Monday is the 24th meeting between Ottawa University and Haskell Indian Nations University. Ottawa leads the series, 13-10, and is on a three game winning streak against HINU. OU won the contest last season, 88-84, on Nov. 23 in Wilson Field House. The last time the Braves lost to Haskell in Lawrence was on Nov. 28, 2016, 70-67. The first time the two teams played against each other was in 1919. Ottawa lost the game, 28-14. From 1977-78 to 1998-99 Haskell and Ottawa did not play against each other due to the fact that HINU was a junior college. That changed in 1999-2000 when Haskell moved to a four-year institution and became a member of the NAIA. Ottawa is 13-7 against HINU since 2000, when the Braves started playing Haskell after they became a member of the NAIA.

Haskell Indian Nations University is 1-4 overall this season and have a record of 0-1 at home. The Fighting Indians enter Monday's game coming off a 98-68 victory over Peru State College on Nov. 9.

In the win over Peru State, HINU shot 55.2 percent from the floor, 36.4 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 88.9 percent from the free throw line. Myona Dauphinais led the team in scoring with 24 points. Wakiyan Irving scored 16 points, Janae Kalama finished with 12 points  and Angela Storga scored 11 points.

Myona Dauphinais leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per game. Janae Kalama is HINU's leader in rebounds per game (4), and Wakiyan Irving and Dauphinais lead the team in assists per game (2.3). Dauphinais is the team's leader in blocks per game (0.5) and steals per game (2.0).

Haskell is ranked seventh in the NAIA in points (442), 27th in 3-pt field goals made per game (8.7), and 42nd in 3-pt field goals made per game (25.8).
