RED OAK, Iowa – The Ottawa University men's tennis team got back on the winning track with a 7-0 victory over Doane University on Saturday morning.

Ottawa took a 1-0 lead in the double point with Oscar Giorgio and Ben Russell's win in no. 3 doubles over Andre Hartman and Elliot Dassel, 6-1. Santiago Tartaglia and Julian Toloza's 6-2 win over Esteban Gutierrez and Jose Purizaca in no. 2 doubles clinched the doubles point for the Braves. Jarmo Perez Wienese and Jhoel Quinonez won their no. 1 doubles match, 6-2,over Diego Infante and Federico Infante.

The Braves extended their lead to 2-0 with Giorgio's 6-1, 6-0 victory against Diego Infante in no. 4 singles. Tartaglia's 6-0, 7-5 win in no. 3 singles against Federico Infante gave OU a 3-0 lead. Ottawa won the match with Perez Wienese 7-5, 5-7, 10-6 victory in no. 1 singles against Gutierrez, 4-0. Quinonez won his no. 2 singles match versus Purizaca. Russell took a 7-6(6) 6-1 win in no. 5 singles against Hartman. Corriger won his no. 6 singles match against Dassel.

Ottawa (4-3) will return to action on Friday, Feb. 8 against Missouri Baptist University. The match will take place in Fulton, Mo. and is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.
