OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team delivered a strong all-around performance on Monday afternoon, securing a 4-3 victory over Evangel University at Forest Park.
The duo of Enzo Ceravolo and Jarmo Perez Wienese controlled the match from the start, earning a 6-0 victory in no. 1 doubles.
In singles play, Ottawa continued to assert control, winning four of the six matches to clinch the team victory. The Braves were especially strong in the top half of the lineup, where they secured three key straight-set wins.
At No. 1 singles, Ceravolo led the charge with a 6-2, 6-4 victory, while Perez Wienese followed with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2. Daniel Sanchez added another point for Ottawa with a steady 6-4, 6-4 decision at No. 3. Lillian Wessels sealed the match for the Braves with a decisive 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6.
Evangel picked up wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles and claimed two of the three doubles matches, but Ottawa's dominance in key positions proved to be the difference.
