LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team won its second consecutive match with a 7-0 win over Hastings College at Genesis on Saturday afternoon.
Santiago Tartaglia and
Julian Toloza won their no. 2 doubles match 6-1 over Thane Waite and Agustin Lopez to give the Braves a 1-0 lead in doubles.
Oscar Giorgio and
Jarmo Perez Wienese took a 6-1 victory in no. 1 doubles to capture the doubles point for the Braves.
OU took a 2-0 lead over Hastings with
Jhoel Quinonez's 6-0, 6-0 win in no. 2 singles over Ethan Mins. Perez Wienese's 6-1, 6-1 win in no. 1 singles over Smeltzer gave the Braves a 3-0 lead. Ottawa wrapped up the match with Toloza's 6-0, 6-1 victory in no. 3 singles over Waite, 4-0.
Oscar Giorgio defeated Ryan Nickerson 6-1, 6-0 in no. 4 singles.
Almog Cohen defeated Lopez 6-0, 6-0 in no. 5 singles.
Ottawa (2-0) returns to action on Friday, Feb. 9 against Newman University at Genesis in Lawrence, Kan. The match is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m.
