LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team won its fourth straight match and moved to 8-0 in the KCAC with a 7-0 win over University of Saint Mary on Thursday morning.
Ottawa took a 1-0 lead in the doubles point with
Santiago Tartaglia and
Jhoel Quinonez's 6-1 victory over Maritz and Eutsey.
Almog Cohen and
Bernardo Figueiredo's 6-2 win in no. 3 doubles clinched the doubles point for the Braves.
Oscar Giorgio and Ben Russel won their no. 3 doubles match 6-3.
The Braves increased their lead to 2-0 with Figeiredo's 6-3, 6-2 win over Jackson Contrucci in no. 3 singles. Tartaglia won his no. 2 singles match 7-5, 6-1 to give OU a 3-0 lead. Quinonez took a 6-4, 6-1 win in no. 1 singles to wrap up the match for the Braves. Russell won his no. 4 singles match 6-1, 6-1.
Valentin Corriger defeated Serrano 6-0, 6-0 in no. 6 singles. Giorgio defeated Ross 6-1, 6-1 in no. 5 singles.
Ottawa (12-4, 8-0) returns to the court on Saturday, April 13 against Bethel College in Forest Park. The match is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
