OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's tennis team fell 5-2 to (RV) Midland University on Friday afternoon at Forest Park

Ottawa's no. 3 doubles team of Isidora Hrnjak and Lily Keimig defeated Kayla Ortiz and Vanessa Hofer, 7-5. Paula Persson and Alejandra Parra lost 6-1 to Taimi Nashiku and Camila Sanchez in no. 1 doubles. Valeria Rodriguez and Priyanshi Sharma were defeated 6-3 by Grace Maxey and Alexandria Garcia in no. 2 doubles.

Hrnjka won her no. 2 singles match 6-4, 6-3 against Zeynep Barut. In no. 5 singles, Rodriguez took a 7-5, 0-6, 6-4 victory over Hofer. Sharma was defeated 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 by Sanchez in no. 1 singles. Persson lost her no. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-3 to Maxey. Parra fell in her no. 4 singles match 7-6(1), 6-1 to Nashiku. Keimig lost 6-0, 6-2 to Garcia in no. 6 singles.

Ottawa (13-5, 9-1) returns to the court on Saturday, April 20 in Salina, Kan. against Kansas Wesleyan University. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
