SALINA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team finished the regular season with a 6-1 victory over Kanas Wesleyan University at Salina Central High School.

Bernardo Figueiredo and Santiago Tartaglia won their no. 3 doubles match 6-2, over Adam Hanson and Luke Craft to give OU a 1-0 lead in the double point. Kansas Wesleyan tied things up with a 6-4 win in no. 1 doubles, 1-1.  Jarmo Perez Wienese and Jhoel Quinonez were defeated by Bryce Ware and Alex Sherer. Ottawa took the doubles point in no. 2 doubles, 2-1. Oscar Giorgio and Ben Russell defeated Raul Davalos and Jacob Phillips, 6-2

Tartaglia won his no. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-3 over Davalos and Ottawa led 2-0. Perez Wienese fell 6-1, 6-1 in no. 1 singles to Ware, cutting OU's lead to 2-1. Quinonez took a 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 win in no. 2 singles over Sherer and the Braves had a 3-1 lead. Giorgio clinched the match for the Braves with his 6-3, 6-0 victory in no. 4 singles over Hanson. Russell took a 6-0, 6-1 win in no. 6 singles over Sherman. Cohen defeated Craft 5-7, 6-2, 10-3 in no. 5 singles.

Ottawa (13-6, 9-2) will now compete in the KCAC Men's Tennis Tournament in Lindsborg, Kan. on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27.
